First Book Sold! Help me sell 1,000!

by Hunter S Zombie
My first breakthrough novel, Prophecy on High, just sold its first copy on Kindle.

Being sold exclusively in the Kindle marketplace, this novel is a haunting and dark tale, filled with artwork by artists, Delfin Diaz and Mary Edwards.

Let me tell you a little bit about this book:
----
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith became a best-seller, as didThe Zombie Survival Guide and World War Z by Max Brooks.  You may have read books about zombies, but you’ve never read one written by a zombie.

Hunter S. Zombie, the undead persona, brings forth his dark and thrilling tale about a recovering addict that becomes targeted by two vicious gangs.

Based on a number of interviews done for a news article about methamphetamine addicts, Hunter S. Zombie scraped the article and compiled the stories into a novel he calls, Prophecy on High.  The first in a series of books entitled, The Haze Heaven Chronicles.

The story follows Joseph Marten, a lost soul that escapes into the euphoric city known as Haze Heaven and finds himself at the bottom of it.  Burrowed into the shadows of the city’s decrepit east side, Joseph tries to claw his way out of the city and discovers a young woman, Rosa Sanchez, whose heading in the same direction.

But in just four days, Joseph will find himself half-alive, imprisoned and standing over the murdered corpse of his best friend.

Looming with haunting illustrations by artists Delfin Diaz and Mary Edwards, Prophecy on High is a thrilling tale that disturbs the darkest depths of the human mind and brings it to life.
-----
I put a lot of blood, sweat and busted fingers to make this book possible and this zombie is happy with his work.

In all honesty, it's a cool book with a lot of great art, think Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and while I search for a publisher to work on releasing a printed version, all you internet folks and smartphone holders can see the novel as it was meant to be seen.

My goal is to sell 1,000 copies and I need you to make that happen.

Stop by and download your copy today! You'll be glad you did!

Thanks for reading.

Left 4 Dead I & II: Zombies Killing Zombies

I’m usually not one for advocating the mass destruction of my fellow zombie brethren, but I understand the human will of survival and the need to train yourself in case of the impending Zombie Apocalypse.  This is why a string of video games are based solely on getting your trigger finger ready and two such games are Left 4 Dead I & II.
I had never shown that great of an interest in video games, although I did enjoy Pong, and this is mainly due to my decomposing nature that causes my thumbs to break off.  However, a friend of mine talked me into sitting down and playing a few rounds, so I dove in.

Left 4 Dead is pretty basic in storyline, four survivors left alive in a zombie apocalypse and they are shooting their way out to salvation.  Just like Jesus would want you to do.  Zombies either stand by idly, easy to kill, or they attack you in hordes, ripping you and your allies apart.
For the most part, the game stays at a  certain level of difficulty and you are able to make your way through pretty easily.  Some other game reviewswere pretty harsh on this aspect.
Left 4 Dead 2, however, bombards you with hordes of zombies at every turn.  In L4D 1 you can fight off the horde with the aid of the other survivors, but if you pause for one second in L4D 2 you might as well drop your gun and feed the masses.

Cut through Zombies with a Chainsaw

The worst campaign for me was the Carnival because I kept stopping to kill zombies on the rollercoaster.  Unlike L4D1, you get me-lee weapons in 2 and can slice, hack or smash zombies continuously without the weapon ever breaking.  Yet, the best advice for surviving L4D 2 is simple, RUN.
So if you are a gamer and enjoy killing zombies by the hundreds then Left 4 Dead I&II were made just for you.  Enjoy it while you can because when the Zombie Apocalypse comes, and it will come, bullets and canned foods will only last you so long. Sooner or later, you’ll be one of us.

Why I don't post more often...

Hunter S. Zombie

I'd like to take this moment to thank you, the readers, for your comments and support for my little blog.

One of the most common questions I get asked, other than what theme I'm using, which is Vigilance by The Theme Foundry,  is;  "Why don't you post more often?"

Well, being a walking corpse has it's disadvantages.

For one, my thumbs keep breaking off after I hit the space bar too many times.

Do you know how hard it is to sew on a thumb when you've got NO thumbs?  It's not easy, my friends.  Not easy at all.

Which brings me to another disadvantage of being a zombie, no one will give me health insurance.   I've been denied by every insurance company you can imagine, due to my "pre-existing condition".    Uncle Blue Shield just laughs at me when I fill out an application.

Plus, I received some good news just last month.  I was called by a small production company in LA to write a spec script for a new horror film their working on.  They love my writing and asked if I could take their idea and turn it into a full feature script.

I immediately took the job, forgetting that I was working on my own project of getting my book published.  I'll post more about that in a later blog.

So you can imagine why I am not able to give you more zombies news everyday, because, believe me, I would.  However, I have to pay the bills and this little blog doesn't give me any financial means.  I had to take a job as an "Alcohol Dealer", some call it a bartender, so I could keep the lights on and afford my medicine.

I thank you all, again, for taking the time to read my posts and if you keep reading them, I'll keep writing them.  And thatz a Zombie Promise you can take to the bank!

(Zombie Promises have no actual monetary value)

Darabont's "Walking Dead" Curves Comic

As you know, I am one that believes in sticking by the book.  Frank Darabont's television version of "The Walking Dead" has been a phenomenal success and has done just that.

Cast and Crew were quoted as using the graphic novel as a storyboard, taking stills from the book.  The sets and characters looked like they jumped straight off the page and the first episode of the series was dead on.

But Darabont took a different turn in episode 2, and added new characters, with some original ones, and situations that were not revealed until later in the comic book series.

Why this new turn for loyal readers?

Some believe that he’s just doing this so we can sacrifice a few folks for the good of the story and bigger characters.  I’m sure watching Glenn and Rick just run past a buncha “walkers” isn’t as exciting as watching a racist be chained to a roof, left for dead.

Due to the intensity and fine acting and directing, I’m riding the ride that Darabont is taking us on.  He may be adding things along the way, but, so far, the story stays true.
